Get a reset code by email, then choose a new password from the login screen.
Childminders and parents who can't remember their password. You'll need the email address your account uses. It takes about two minutes.
You reset your password from the login screen. It works the same way for childminders and parents.
Open the KinderStart app, choose your role, then go to Log In.
Under the password field, tap Forgot Password?. This opens the Reset Password screen.
Type the email address you log in with, then tap Send Reset Link. If the field is empty, or what you typed isn't a valid email address, you'll see an error and nothing is sent.
You'll see Email Sent: "If an account exists with this email, you will receive a password reset code shortly." The message doesn't say whether that email has an account. That's deliberate, so nobody can use it to find out who has an account. Despite the button's name, the email contains a 6-digit code, not a link.
Tap Enter Code to open Reset Your Password, then fill in:
Tap Reset Password. When you see Password Reset, tap Go to Login and log in with your new password. Resetting doesn't log you in automatically.
Check your spam or junk folder, and that you typed the right email address. There's no resend button on this screen: tap Back to Login, then Forgot Password? again, to get a new code.
If someone else created your account and gave you a temporary password, you'll see Set New Password after logging in with it. There's no code: choose a new password that meets the rules listed on the screen, tap Set New Password, and you're logged straight in.
Your account holds children's records. Sending the code to your email proves the account is yours, and the message never confirms which emails are registered.
