See what's paid and what's due, open and download an invoice in the parent app, and pay with Tax-Free Childcare.
Parents whose childminder sends invoices through KinderStart. You'll need the parent app (see
Getting started as a parent). It takes about two minutes.
Tap the Menu at the top left of your home screen, then choose Finances. Every invoice your childminder sends arrives here as soon as it's issued, so there's no paper copy to keep hold of.
Use the filters at the top of the list:
Tap an invoice to see its details. The invoice shows:
Speak to your childminder. They see the same breakdown as you and can correct the invoice if needed.
Tap Download PDF to save a copy. It's useful for your own records, a childcare voucher claim, or proving childcare costs.
Invoices are worked out from your contract and your child's recorded attendance. The days and hours on the invoice are the same ones your childminder logged in the daily diary, so there's nothing to add up by hand and less room for mistakes on either side.
Paying an invoice straight from your Tax-Free Childcare account inside the app is being piloted with HMRC and isn't available yet. For now, pay your childminder using the payment details they've given you, including from your Tax-Free Childcare account online.
