Parents who want to see who is looking after their child. You'll need the parent app (see
Getting started as a parent). It takes about two minutes.
Tap the Menu at the top left of your home screen, then choose Setting & Qualifications.
Under Setting & Practitioners you'll see the setting's details and its registration number. You can check that number with the regulator: Ofsted in England, the Care Inspectorate in Scotland, or Care Inspectorate Wales.
Under Lead Childminder you'll see:
A certificate that's close to its expiry date is marked Expiring Soon, and one that has run out is marked Expired.
If your childminder works with assistants, Assistants & Setting Team shows each person's checks and qualifications in the same way.

Your childminder adds their own certificates and expiry dates. KinderStart shows whether each one is still in date, but doesn't check the certificates with the issuer. If anything worries you, ask to see the original, or check the registration number with the regulator.
